How to Cleanse & Charge Your Crystals
“Smoke of air and fire of earth. Bless and cleanse this home and hearth. Drive away all harm and fear; only good may enter here.”
Cleansing your crystals on a regular basis is really important as they absorb any type of energy that is around you, mainly negative energy.
Whenever I buy a new crystal, as soon as I get home I wash them with salty water and leave them on a window seal to dry from the sun naturally. Regardless where the crystal was bought from, its most likely picked up/absorbed any vibration from the environment its been at, so thats why its really important as soon as you get home to cleanse that crystal, so it radiates and absorbs your energy only. It’s a habit I’ve gotten into since buying crystals for many years now.
To create positive energy within your crystals, you need to cleanse them on a frequent basis. How many times is up to you. I tend to cleanse mine at every full moon. It helps with the vibrations of the stone.
Look at it this way, if you have been sick or down in the dumps, going through a bad negative thinking stage, most likely they have absorbed your negative energy. Hence why, always good to cleanse these stones of yours.
CLEANSING with SALTWATER
The best form of salty water of course is from the ocean. If you’re close by a beach, go and take a bucket to collect some ocean water.
If not, buy some organic sea salt from the local supermarket, place a tablespoon of sea salt into a large bowl with mild warm water and place your crystals into the bowl.
Gently wash them, one by one. Once that’s all done, if you have a window seal that’s in direct sunlight place them all in a row to dry naturally.
For me I prefer it this way as it absorbs the natural rays from the sun, giving them a natural energy. I usually leave mine over night when I know the full moon is appearing that night.
Having both the sun’s energy and the moonlight’s energy it will give the crystals an abundance infusion of energies.
CLEANSING with WHITE SAGE
The most potent of smudging is the white sage. You can hold your crystals close to the stream of smoke or simply hold your smudge stick, slowly waving it over the crystals (where they are sitting) so the air around just wafts over them.
Make your intention to the universe that you are wanting to purify and re-energise your crystals.
Sage smoke is really quite powerful to in cleansing your crystals, your home or any where that you feel may have some ‘negative’or ‘stale’energy.
I like to sage every room at my home once every couple of months. Just ridding of any stale old energies or feelings, making way for the new, and clearing the way for positive to surround my home.
CHARGING with MOONLIGHT
You can place your crystals at any phase of the moon, although just know that the full moon is the most potent.
What the full moon does is charge up your crystals with energies and recharge the vibrational feeling of the crystal to work at its highest.
CLEANSING with the SOIL from the GROUND
You can bury your crystals in your garden, in the dirt for a few days.
Now what this does is that it helps your crystals to restore their natural balance, and return their back to their vibrational energy.
One important tip: try to remember where you buried your crystals ? …just saying. Haha!
I bury mine beside my Buddha in my garden.
“I give up freely what is no longer serving me. I release it to create space for what inspires me.”
It’s really up to you when you want or how you want to cleanse your crystals, but just look at it this way: cleansing your crystals is just like cleaning your home or washing your clothes.
Whenever you’re feeling down, negative or a some stressful situation is getting to you, meditating on a crystal can help you to refocus, center you and even heal you. So for the crystals to be at their very best, they need to get cleansed and charged on a regular basis. Now, if you don’t use your crystals that often, twice a year is really OK for them to get cleansed.
You’ll know what works best for you – you just need to listen to your own intuition. Namaste.
