Planning a Post-Pandemic Party
We might not be out of the woods yet, but we are getting there, and if the first thing you want to do when restrictions are lifted is to throw a party, I’ve got you covered with my top tips for throwing a post-pandemic soiree…
Food and Drink Aplenty
The first thing you’re going to want to do is to ensure that there is more than enough food and drink to go around because let’s face it an under catered party is going to be memorable for all the wrong reasons.
The easiest way to ensure that you have enough for everyone is to buy wholesale in bulk. You can get everything from your favourite Cinnamon Scroll to the champagne you love in bulk from bakeries, caterers and wine merchants, so do that and make life easy for yourself.
Create a Party Playlist
This might be the first chance you’ve really had to let your hair down in a while, so you want to ensure that everyone really goes for it. You can do that by creating the ultimate party playlist packed with bangers. Just ensure there’s something to suit everyone’s taste, yes even Dave who only listens to Radiohead.
Sort Out Seating
Although restrictions may be loosened, many of your guests may still want to keep a little distance, and it is probably a good idea to do so, most of the time at least. So, if you don’t already have lots of spacious seating, it could be a good idea to rent a few extra chairs for the occasion.
Go all Out on the Decoration
Your usual parties may be more of a classy affair with little more than a few candles to mark the occasion, but your post-pandemic party needs to be different; it needs to be special; you need to go all out. String the palace with flashing fairy lights in every conceivable colour, hang streamers and buy novelty straws. Make it as much fun as possible because we all need this.
Plan Some Activities
Whether your crowd are the karaoke type or more into board games, ensure that they have the best time possible and never get bored by making a few fun activities available,
You will all be missing each other, so chances are stalking, laughing and dancing will be fun enough, but having some activities planned just in case there is a lull is always a good idea too.
Create a Chill-out Zone
Because you may not have seen each other for a while, creating a designated chillout zone where people can go to sit and talk away from the hustle and bustle of the main event, just for a little while, could be a good touch, and it could be as simple as slinging a few beanbags in a quiet corner of the home or garden.
If you take my advice, your post-pandemic party won’t just be one of the best post-pandemic parties, it will be one of the best parties full stop.
